Miss Kelly

For 2016-17 school year Miss Kelly will be teaching:

  • Sat 9:30 am Creative Dance
  • Sat. 10 am Pre-Dance
  • Sat. 11 am Ballet 1 & 2
  • Sat 12 pm Jazz / Hip Hop 1 & 2
  • Sat. 1pm Lyrical 1 & 2

Kelly is a versatile dance performer, choreographer and teacher. A recent Seattle transplant from North Carolina, where she trained, performed, choreographed and taught professionally. Kelly received her BFA in dance from Appalachian State University '11 , was a scholarship student at the American Dance Festival studying under renown instructors such as Brenda Daniels  (director of the North Carolina School of the Arts) , Mark Haim , and Ishmael Houston-Jones . She's continued expanding her training with intensives in NYC under nationally known teachers and choreographers , with Ad Deum Dance Company of Houston, and any master class she can attend. Past company member of Sidelong Dance Company, collaborated and performed with Songs of Water ( international band) , and was a speaker / instructor representing choreography at the 2015 "Breath and The Clay" Creative Conference .Kelly's contemporary choreography has won multiple awards at competitions throughout the Southeast.  She's an experienced teacher of 5+ years teaching creative 3 year olds to pre professional 18 year olds , as well as adult classes of varying levels and styles.

     Techniques  in which she's been trained and taught are :
modern/contemporary, ballet,  jazz/ HH , african, composition and improvisational , skills classes focused on turns and leaps, as well as creative, pre dance, and a splash of tap.

     Kelly enjoys sharing the enthusiasm for excellence , creativity, and creating a safe environment for students to grow as dancers and as fearless, confident , loved individuals.

     Kelly has a heart to see people healed, to release and be a sound of hope to a generation, and to tell of the Goodness of God. Every student is a gift. She is honored to lead and to teach each one who walks through the studio door at Reflection School of Dance.
